Six static images that transform with live performance by Pak Yan Lau and Audrey Lauro. The changing of light during the day, from dramatic changes in colors at dawn to the subtlest changes of shadows during the day. This edition of STILLS cooperates with UIT ZICHT slide projections. The gradual changing of light and shadows is explored in six scenes each taken at a different time of day. Somewhere between film and static image each of the six scenes transforms under the influence of earth’s orbit around the sun, gradual and mesmerizing. Stills uses these images as a score introducing elements of minimalism and noise to create a soundtrack that translates these almost frozen dynamics into sounds.

STILLS / Uit Zicht project (2017)

Zes statische beelden die transformeren met live improvisatie door Pak Yan Lau en Audrey Lauro. Het veranderen van het licht gedurende de dag, van dramatische veranderingen in kleuren bij zonsopgang tot de subtielste wisselingen van schaduwen overdag. In dit project werkt STILLS samen met UIT ZICHT diaprojecties. De geleidelijke verandering van licht en schaduwen wordt in zes scènes elk op een ander tijdstip van de dag verkend. Ergens tussen film en statische afbeelding transformeert elk van de zes scenes onder invloed van de baan van de aarde rond de zon, geleidelijk en betoverend. Stills gebruikt deze beelden als een partituur waarbij elementen van minimalisme en ruis worden geïntroduceerd om een ​​soundtrack te creëren die deze bijna bevroren dynamiek vertaalt in geluiden.
